Well Mr. Toad is not your typical birding type person. I just bird to shoot photos. I have posted an album of some backyard birds and a few others that I took last year here in East Texas / Gulf Coast areas.
With advent of Digital SLR Photography you can capture a lot more avian photos and process them on sight with a laptop (and a power adapter for your car lighter socket).
Sometimes just for relaxation I will open my home office window and setup the big lens EF600 L F/4 with the 1.3 adapter and then wait for my little feathered buddy's to show up.
It's seems the perfect time for this type of photography is when it is partly cloudy and in early to mid morning.
Bird bait tip: Get fresh seed! I get mine from Wild Birds Unlimited in the Woodlands. Ask for Mario. He is a great help to my wife and I when it comes to getting the right food to attract the right bird. Like worms for the blue birds! They love them..
