After working with PPC Publishing and 127 (one-hundred-and-twenty-seven) websites in the past year. I have found the "secret to ppc income" - Many sharply focused niche web sites about one topic each.
PPC publishing is not rocket science it's just the blind leading the blind with a few rules thrown in to keep one on course. The follow are my rules for a small (really) but profitable pay per click empire.
1. Have someone make you a great template or customize a script like Mambo or Drupal.
2. Pay a SEO guru to optimize and streamline your whole procedure for your website. I made 4x6 notes that I keep on my desk under the glass top to remind me how to do it the right way each time.
3. It's not a great web site until you have 400 useful articles about the product your website represents. Make sure it is only original work whether you do it or someone else does it.. Keep tabs on your site and make sure no one copies your original work.
If you find cheaters that copy your work (and you will (a lot)).. Make their life a living hell. Report these pirates to every authority online that you can find. Scream it from the roof tops. Hire a lawyer if you really need to..but fight for what is yours.
4. Have custom scripts written to perform repetitive tasks like page creation - and or complete site creation. Anything that will keep you focused on creating and making an income from your humble abode.
5. Refresh your content at least yearly - Have someone rewrite your articles - make them even more helpful than before to your clients/readers/prospect.
6. Subscribe to Webmasterworld.com this is one of the most important steps that has helped my small business grow and profit. The answers are not easy to come by on the forum but you can read between the lines and your mental light bulb will come on.
7. Advertise off line - I have business cards with only a website name on them and just leave them everywhere like as a book mark in a magazine at the dentist office, even my attorney's office has a few hidden in the People magazines laying around on the coffee table.
8. Make sure at least a couple of your website urls are in the signature of your email that you send out.
9. Use Blogs like crazy - Create your own review blog just about your websites - Use a pen name and tell the world about your own creations - I am sure there are thousands of people already using this savy editorial path as we speak. Make sure you publish your ppc account on your review site as well. You never know where a click can come from.
10. Turn off and Tune Out! Yes - get away from your computer, tv, and even mp3 player and just sit at a table in doors or out with a cup of coffee with legal pad and pen in tow - Just write, scribble and think of unique ways to create, improve, and make your web site empire move forward.
11. Add affiliate marketing in small doses to your nice ppc sites. Only products that pertain to the sites subject. I hate going to a web page that is about car insurance and there is an ad for hair loss cures.
12. Have fun and and expect to wait about a year for each site to start making real money.
PPC publishing is for everybody. The do-it-your-selfers and the manager types that have to hire everyone to do it for them. This blog is about as creative as it gets for this publisher...the rest is hired out ..
